2-3 pm return to Cocorná, 4-5 pm return to Medellin
Start at the office, where you register for insurance, you can leave your belongings in the office or take them in the car, approximately 50 minutes by car until you reach the entrance of the Melcocho River.
Day 1 10km: begin in the hike in el retiro a small village that overlooks the Rio Melcocho. From here begin ascending into the mountains wandering along the river side. catch a glimpse of the local wildlife in a jungle like scenery. Accommodation in small farm house. Option to camp in hammock or tent.
Day 2 10km: start in open pastures and roaming mountains until we stop for lunch at an ancient road. After lunch we ascend into the steep mountain pass that will give us a view of the valley of the rio verde. Here we will spend the night enjoying the river pools.
Day 3 5km: Wake up enjoy breakfast the begin descending down the river making shallow crossings and cliff jumps into the crystal clear pools. Enjoy a picnic style lunch on the Rio Verde before climbing back up to a small village where our transport will be waiting.
2-3 pm return to Cocorná, 4-5 pm return to Medellin
What to bring
Warm clothing for after Shoes that can get wet and won’t fall off spandex or comfortable clothing for walking in the grass on the trail to the waterfall appropriate clothing for the water sunblock camera any medication, water, no items of value should be taken on this excursion all personal items and vehicles can be left at our office enjoy a dip in the infinity pool with one of the most stunning views in the world for group discounts or special events please inquire via email
